Nor-Maali’s new water-borne Norecryl Aqua DTM, a groundbreaking 2-component acrylic coating combines the corrosion resistance of epoxies with the weather resistance of polyurethanes. This environmentally friendly direct-to-metal coating also ensures user safety as it contains no isocyanates.

Norecryl Aqua DTM – Weather-resistant corrosion protection without isocyanates

Norecryl Aqua DTM sets a new benchmark in weather-resistant corrosion protection, without relying on isocyanates. It combines the best features of epoxy and polyurethane coatings: corrosion resistance, weather durability, and a smooth finish.

Unlike epoxy that turns chalky and fades under sunlight, Norecryl Aqua DTM maintains its color and gloss, much like polyurethane coatings. Its smooth and stylish finish resembles the high-quality surface usually found with polyurethane coatings.

Norecryl Aqua DTM is designed as a direct-to-metal (DTM) coating for corrosion classes C2-C3. The product reaches corrosion class C3-M with a 120 µm DFT, making it an excellent choice for painting machinery and equipment and general steel structures.

Norecryl Aqua DTM is designed for safer painting with technical features in mind. The product does not contain isocyanate, which makes it a safer choice for the user. However, Norecryl Aqua DTM still provides features commonly associated with polyurethane coatings, such as good weather resistance.

Norecryl Aqua DTM’s VOC content is only 58 g/L. The low VOC content also makes Norecryl Aqua DTM a safer choice for both the user and the environment.

NISO single-coat system with a long pot life

The isocyanate-free Norecryl Aqua DTM offers a cost-effective alternative for weather-resistant corrosion protection. The paint has 8 hours pot-life, which is really long compared to many polyurethane coatings. It generates less paint waste and allows for completion with a single spray, leading to quicker throughput than a two-layer system.

Furthermore, Norecryl Aqua DTM is an acrylic coating that is easy to spray. It produces a smooth spray pattern without fingering and does not require thinning before application. Working with Norecryl Aqua DTM is pleasant, as the product is almost odorless.

Norecryl Aqua DTM dries quickly. The product is dry to handle at room temperature already four hours after application.
