ROXON’s services cover the entire life cycle of material handling equipment. This includes equipment design, project management, conveyor components, and equipment maintenance and modernization. Material handling solutions can be implemented, for example, in open pits, ports, power plants and mines.

ROXON implements projects for its customers all over the world, where the paint specs are usually defined by the customers. Nor-Maali tailors a paint system for ROXON that suits the customer’s requirements on a case-by-case basis. The requirements for paint systems vary depending on the object. The requirement may be e.g. chemical, abrasion or weather resistance. Sometimes the paint system must be, for example, isocyanate-free.
In addition to coatings, Nor-Maali offers inspection services to ROXON. The need for inspection is often determined by the customer’s requirements.
The cooperation between the companies also marks an important milestone in Nor-Maali’s export activities. “When ROXON decided to move its production to Estonia years ago, Nor-Maali made a decision to establish a unit in Estonia”, says Markku Tuominen from Nor-Maali.
The latest cooperation project was completed in the Pori Deep Harbour, where ROXON delivered six entirely new belt conveyors, nine conveyor modifications, three fully upgraded multi-level transfer buildings, transfer chutes and divider gate systems along with other accessories such as magnets and belt scale retro-fits.
The material handling equipment was coated with Epocoat 280 GF epoxy coating, which is very resistant to chemical and mechanical exposure. The product is reinforced with glass flakes. In Pori, the painting system was 2 x 200 µm DFT.
Epocoat 280 GF is used for steel- and concrete surfaces in aggressive atmospheric environments, in elevated temperatures as well as in chemical and mechanical exposure. It offers extremely good protection against corrosion and has outstanding abrasion resistance. Typical uses are protection of wood drying plants, pressure vessels, hot ends of paper machines, containers for selected chemical products, waste water containers, water containers such as pulp tanks. Epocoat 280 GF can be used as a floor coating on acid leakage areas, process rooms, washing rooms of vehicles. It can be also used as a coating of ship’s grey water tanks and under water areas.
