As autumn cools down and winter approaches, it’s good to consider which coatings best suit for industrial painting in cold conditions. Cold weather can pose challenges for painting and often increases costs, but with the right product selection, significant savings can be achieved without compromising quality. The drying temperature of the paint and the number of coating layers directly impact the process’s cost-efficiency. In this context, Nor-Maali’s Normafine 40 HS is an excellent choice—a high-solids polyurethane coating that cures even in low temperatures and functions effectively as a direct-to-metal coating solution.
Normafine 40 HS is a semi-gloss, high-solids polyurethane coating, optimized for the cool conditions of autumn. Its usability in temperatures as low as 0°C makes it a reliable choice for industrial paint shops that seek to reduce energy costs during the colder months. With Normafine 40 HS, painting can continue effectively, even when the temperature drops.
One way to reduce painting costs is by switching from a multi-coat system to a single coat application. Here, too, Normafine 40 HS provides a crucial advantage for the user.
This coating contains anti-corrosion pigments and can be used as a single coat in environments with corrosivity categories C2-C3. It meets the requirements of the C3M corrosivity category with a 120 µm dry film thickness. In addition to corrosion protection, Normafine 40 HS offers good weather resistance, and in epoxy-polyurethane systems, it can be used as a topcoat over an epoxy primer in corrosivity categories C2-C5.
Normafine 40 HS is designed for an efficient and high-quality painting process. Application properties of Normafine 40 HS make it easy to spray, with a smooth spray pattern and minimal overspray. With Normafine 40 HS, it is also possible to spray thick, up to 160 µm dry film thicknesses without sagging, which reduces the time spent on work and improves the quality of the result.
This coating is suitable for both general steel structures and ACE&OEM, and its properties ensure a reliable finish in demanding painting conditions.
This year, Normafine 40 HS received an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), allowing it to be used in projects where the environmental impact and carbon footprint of products are prioritized. The EPD is a standardized report that objectively presents what a product is made of and how it impacts the environment throughout its lifecycle. EPD makes Normafine 40 HS an attractive option for environmentally conscious operators and projects aiming at sustainable development.
