Last autumn, we introduced Sales Manager Aleksandr Radtsenko from our Estonian organization. This time, we are pleased to present Sales Manager Reio Karik who works as a Sales Manager at Oü Nor-Maali, overseeing operations in Tallinn, Southwestern Estonia, and Tallink ships.
Reio Karik has been part of the Oü Nor-Maali team since the company’s foundation in 2015. Before joining Nor-Maali, he worked for several years at Teraskompanjo, which was Nor-Maali’s distributor at the time. His journey into the painting industry began in 2007, when a friend asked him if he would like to start selling powder coatings. Reio spent about three years in that role before he saw Teraskompanjo´s name somewhere, which piqued his interest in learning more about the company.
In June 2011, Reio started working at Teraskompanjo, where he became familiar with Nor-Maali´s and Jotun´s products. This marked the beginning of his experience with liquid coatings, a field he was introduced to by Rainar Jürisaar, who was working at Teraskompanjo at the time and is now the CEO of Oü Nor-Maali.
Since 2015, Reio has been part of Oü Nor-Maali’s team, where he manages customers in the protective segment in Tallinn and Southwestern Estonia, as well as Marine customers, including Tallink ships. His role involves sales, technical customer support, and creating painting specifications, a task which he does a lot. During summer, he also participates in warehouse operations as needed, which adds a refreshing variety to his workdays.
Reio appreciates the versatility of his work. Every day is different, and the job continuously provides opportunities for learning. He also values Oü Nor-Maali as a safe and reliable employer where there is always meaningful work to be done.
In his customer interactions, Reio has observed that many clients prefer to stick with familiar, trusted products and painting methods. For example, Normadur 65 HS is a favorite of his customers. However, when clients seek new solutions, Reio is ready to recommend newer products, such as Normathane 50 FD.
When selecting the best painting system for a customer, Reio emphasizes the importance of evaluating the overall benefits of the system. While the price of the coating is a key criterion from the customer’s perspective, Reio encourages taking a broader view. Factors such as the volume solids of the product and the amount of overspray should also be considered to assess the total cost of the painting process, rather than focusing solely on the price per liter.
Reio’s extensive experience in the coating industry and his dedication to his work have made him a valued member of Oü Nor-Maali’s sales team. He continues to serve Nor-Maali’s customers with enthusiasm and professionalism.
