Pohjanmaan Tiekoneet Oy manufactures Snow-Line snow plows

Pohjanmaan Tiekoneet has been manufacturing the Snow-Line product family since 2015, when they bought the product rights.

Snow-Line products are designed for demanding professional use, in particular, for the road maintenance in northern conditions. “The Snow-Line snow plows are designed to follow the slopes of the road. This is made possible by the free movement of the center disc. The frame is designed and constructed in such a way that it prevents bouncing while plowing, increasing the comfort and end securing a better end result”, says Tapio Majaharju, managing director of Pohjanmaan Tiekoneet Oy.

The Snow-Line product family includes solutions for different types of plowing, sandblasters, street sweepers purposes to be installed in trucks, tractors and fork lifts. “We have competent personnel and together with our customers we develop the products. A one great example of this is the edge filling device, which is used to quickly spread crushed stone or gravel between the asphalt and the ditch – making the road repair faster”, Majaharju says.

Snowline products are surface treated with Nor-Maali’s Normafine HS

Normafine HS can be used in environmental classes C2-C3 as a gloss retaining and abrasion resistant single coat (DTM). It is also suitable for to be used as a topcoat in environmental classes C2-C5 on various primers, and as a maintenance coating on old paint surfaces. “In Normafine HS product offering we have also a well hiding colored bases e.g. the Snow-Line plows signal yellow is made of colored base”, says Marko Patrikainen from Nor-Maali’s technical sales.

In Snow-Line snow plows, the painting system is 1 x 160-200 µm DFT. Despite the rather thick film thickness, Normafine HS dries well and the painted parts can be assembled the next day. “Normafine HS has proven to be an excellent coating because it forms a high gloss and wear-resistant paint surface that is easy to keep clean”, Majaharju praises the paint’s performance.

The cooperation between Nor-Maali and Pohjanmaan Tiekoneet Oy roots back to the year 2008. “Since then, Nor-Maali’s paints have been used for the surface treatment. In addition to Normafine HS polyurethane coating, with which we surface treat Snow-Line products, we also use Epocoat 21 Primer epoxy primer and Normadur HB polyurethane topcoat for our subcontracting part of work. The Snow-Line products are made all year round, even in summer time, and the service operates from Nor-Maali all year round. The price is also competitive”, concludes Majaharju.
